Finlight is manufactured by the multi-national Spanish company FINSA with the UK headquarters and distribution centre at Birkenhead on Merseyside.
Total Cubicle Solutions, chose Finlight after months of researching the lightweight products available in the U.K. Total Cubicles' Paul Ledsham says "Finlight was shortlisted as it offered low weight characteristic from a solid core board that enables us to process the panels in the same manner as our standard productions without a call for additional machinery or processing time".
"Other lightweight boards trialled by Total Cubicles were the hollow core type. These boards proved difficult to process with inherent problems applying hardwood edging due to the cores compressing on the machinery. Holly core also presents complications when a face fixing is required. These problems were simply not present in Finlight."
Total Cubicles' Equus Range has been designed to offer a solid look and feel, with its chunky doors and pilasters, it offers clean flush lines for clients looking for something that is a bit different.
Paul Ledsham adds: "We needed solid core doors for the flush fitting design that were strong but light enough not to put undue strain on the hinges and other partition supports. Heavier boards would have resulted in the cubicles being pulled out of alignment."
Total Cubicles edged the 40mm Finlight with 10mm solid ash hardwood and laminated front & back with Formica Polar Whire laminate. Finlight is developed for applications requiring both thick but low weight boards, it offers a significant reduction in weight for large area/colume sheets while maintaining excellent stability and working properties. Essentially Finlight is composed of two faces of Fibranor (thin MDF) with the core layer made of Iberpan 300 (300kg/m density) MDF. It can be cut, edged, postformed and shaped on standard machinery and will accept all standard fittings.
